History
Arabs introduced Is;am to the Indian subcontinent in the 18th century. Most of the area was conquered by Muslim warriors in the 900's. In the 16th century Muslim power reached its peak. By the 1800's the British east India trading company had become the dominant power in the area. The last Mogul Dynasty was deposed in 1858 Ali Jinnah the leader of the Muslim league began advocating separate Muslim and Hindu nations in 1940. As Britain prepared to grant independence to the area, Muslim leaders feared Hindus would control the new country. They pressed for independence from India Muslim regions chose the latter and in 1947 became east and west Pakistan.
